linux - Shouldn't Android OS survive app crash? -

i noticed, apps not crash self, can crash operating scheme (android), causing reboot. true skype.

my question, shouldn't os survive app crash? in desktop environment, unless there faulty kernel module, normal app/processes couldn't crash os. terminated (with optional core dump).

is version of linux kernel used in android different vanilla kernel in regard? or it, android applications allowed install , load kernel modules?
