How to create drop down list in tableau dashboards -

how create “sheet selector” gives ability select individual sheet dashboard , replace sheets sheet selected.

this workaround work:

select create parameter(right click in info window left).

in parameter dialog box assign values shown below:

data type : string allowable values : list list of values : all, sheet 1, sheet 2, .. , give name

create calculated field (right click in info window left)

give parameter name step 2 in formula text box.

for each sheet in workbook, drag calculation field created in step 4 filters shelf , follows:

in general tab, select custom value list type all in text box , click add together item button. type particular sheet name , click add together item.

create dashboard

right click on worksheet , select parameter --> select sheet. can find new filter added right side , can select sheet show in dashboard.
