the reply should

and how retain first value above illustration

a ---- 35 40

one "average" =average(35,39)=37 , other "min" =min(40,43) =40. if want physical middle number in grouping '35,36,37,40,43' can utilize "median" =median(35,36,37,40,43) = 37
