when type on terminal /opt/glassfish4/glassfish/bin/asadmin start, next result:

remote server not hear requests on [localhost:4848]. server up? unable remote commands. closest matching local command(s): restart-domain restart-local-instance start-database start-domain start-local-instance command start failed.

similarly, when type /opt/glassfish4/glassfish/bin/asadmin --port 5656 start-domain, get

i sense there problem in path /opt/glassfish4/glassfish/bin/asadmin. working on first jsf web application , cannot run glassfish server. using netbeans , ubuntu 13.10. can show me way?

the error messages

java.io.ioexception: couldn't lock /opt/glassfish4/glassfish/domains/domain1/logs/server.log

and

exception in thread "main" java.lang.runtimeexception: domain directory not writable.

indicate user business relationship utilize start server doesn't have write permissions in glassfish domain folder.

to solve problem either alter permissions or start asadmin command user has sufficient permissions.

if doesn't solve problem, there may process has lock on server.log file, guess have noticed that. create sure can run

lsof /opt/glassfish4/glassfish/domains/domain1/logs/server.log

to see if process using file.
