i looking implement utilize of bluetooth 4.0 smart ready device (polar h6/h7 heart rate sensors) in application. forced target windows 7 os. however, i'm seeing windows 8 back upwards smart ready devices. not able upgrade clients windows 8 in order utilize these devices.

the first problem found windows 7 not see device in order pair it. might dongle i'm using. have tried 2 different ones. first csr v4.0 (i'm not sure actual model number). sec startech usbbt1edr4. both seem using csr chipsets. maybe should seek different chipset based dongle? such broadcom or ti? see , can pair device windows 8.1 surface pro.

is there no way bluetooth smart implementation windows 7 os platform?

i've faced same problems! need run application in o older version of windows (win xp) , cannot find back upwards dongle (one based in broadcom bcm20702).

what i've found windows prior windows 8, has no bluetooth low energy support, not able utilize windows bluetoth stack, , broadcom doesn't have sdk ble (i've contacted them, , said it).

so i've looked other alternatives , bluegiga bluetooth 4.0 dongle has c sdk can utilize develop applications in windows xp , 7. in page (after register) can find documentation need.

i've found c# wrapper , java wrapper api.

hope can help.
